April 1, 2024 (Donald) Dean Rose It is with sadness we announce the passing of (Donald) Dean Rose of Sooke BC. Beloved soul mate, husband and best friend of Mindy (Melinda) of Sooke BC for 24 years, whom he married on June 18, 2017. Cherished father of Christina, Michael and Robert of Victoria BC. Loving Grandfather of Kaylee and Brody of Victoria BC.

Predeceased by his parents Robert Rose (2002) and Clara (Armstrong) Rose (2021), and brothers Robert Rose (2005), William Rose (2011), sister-in-law Pat Rose (2023) and sister Barbara (Rose) Watts 2024.

Survived by his brothers and sisters; Gord Rose of Tillsonburg, Deborah & Ray Pointer of Calgary, Kathleen & Mike Cooper of Ladysmith, B.C., Jeanette Rose of London and Connie & Len Davidson of RR#3 Delhi and brother-in-law Steve Watts of Port Rowan, Ontario. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dean was a kind and gentle person with a soft heart and a great sense of humour. His love of the great outdoors and his love of children shall not be forgotten. Dean lead a very adventurous life in his youth. Working in the oil fields of Alberta, drilling for gas on the great lakes and working on the Alaskan pipeline for several years. One of the highlights of his life was being the guest of honour (during his time on the Alaska Pipeline) for a dinner hosted by a Canadian Prime Minister who recognized him and his co-workers for the commitment to the job. Born in Tillsonburg Ontario, he travelled throughout Canada and the United States. He will be greatly missed.
